This wood varies from a yellow brown to a rich brown and frequently may show streaks of dark color which eventually fade with age. With a straight and coarse grain the wood has a distinctly oily feel. Teak machines moderately but has considerable dulling effect on cutters. Glues and finishes satisfactorily but can have bonding problem during the finishing process. Intrinsically,Teak is one of the most valuable of all woods.
